Abalone

Australia is one of the largest suppliers of wild Abalone in the world with a reputation for consistency and reliability and produces almost all of the world’s green lip abalone, one of the largest and most sought after species.  

The season runs year-round from January 1 to December 31 in the Western and Central regions and from October 1 to September 30 in the Southern parts. 

The extremely clean and clear continental waters abundant in nutrient-rich seaweed and algae contribute to the wild abalone characteristics and make Australia one of the top suppliers.

Aion sources three varieties of wild and farmed Abalone for global markets.

The Wild Greenlip, Blacklip and Brownlip Abalone is harvested from the sea floor by hand, by experienced divers. The Abalone meat is quickly shelled and placed into an ice slurry and transported.
